Who's behind it
Logan Smith and Hunter McDonald. The two people who come out to measure your garage are the same two running the grinder, pulling the base coat and throwing the flake. Nothing gets handed off to a sub. Nobody is practising on your floor.
We started Solid Ground because the math on garage floors is simple and most people get it backwards. The coating is not usually what fails — the concrete underneath it is. So we bought the grinder first, learned the slab side of this properly, and only then went looking for a system worth putting on top of it. That turned out to be polyaspartic: it stays flexible when the slab moves in the cold, it doesn't yellow where the sun comes through the door, and it goes hard enough, fast enough, that you're parking on it the next day.

Why Solid Ground
A garage floor coating almost never lets go because the coating was bad. It lets go because it was never properly bonded to the concrete in the first place. Everything below is about that.
Acid etching is the cheap way to open a slab: wash it on, let it burn the surface, rinse it off — in a garage with no floor drain. It bites unevenly, it leaves residue behind, and it does nothing about the weak, dusty top layer of the concrete. A diamond grinder takes that layer off mechanically and opens the same consistent profile across the whole floor, corner to corner and right up to the wall. Coating needs to key into concrete. It can't key into dust.
We throw flake into the wet base coat until the floor stops taking it, let it set, then scrape and vacuum the loose material back off before anything else goes down. A light scatter of flake photographs fine and shows every scuff and tire mark by the following summer. A full broadcast gives you real texture underfoot, hides what a garage floor actually goes through, and leaves no thin spots to wear through first.
It stays flexible when the slab moves in a Southern Ontario winter. It's UV stable, so the strip inside the door doesn't go yellow while the rest of the floor stays put. It handles road salt, brake fluid and a hot tire parked on it in August. And it cures fast enough that a typical garage is a one-day install instead of a week of your driveway being full.
Moisture pushing up through a slab will lift any coating off it eventually, and no amount of good product changes that. Old sealer stops a new coat bonding. Cracks and spalls need chasing out and filling, not skimming over. If your garage has something going on that makes a coating a bad idea, we would rather tell you at the quote than discover it on install day.

None of this is secret knowledge. It's just slower, and it costs more to do properly. That difference is the entire business.

The install
Here's exactly what happens between us pulling in the driveway and you getting your garage back.
Everything comes out, and a diamond grinder takes off the weak top layer, old sealer, paint and anything else in the way. It runs under a vacuum shroud with HEPA extraction, so the concrete dust ends up in a drum instead of in your rafters and your lungs.
Cracks get chased out wider than they came, pits and spalled edges get filled, and every patch gets re-ground flush with the floor around it so nothing telegraphs through the finish later.
Pigmented polyaspartic goes down wet and gets cut in tight at the walls and the door edge. The working time on this material is short. That's the main reason there are two of us and not one.
Flake goes into the wet base by hand until the floor refuses to take any more. Then it sits. Once it's set, the loose flake gets scraped back and vacuumed off, which is what leaves you an even surface instead of a gritty one.
A clear polyaspartic topcoat seals the flake in and becomes the surface you actually drive and walk on. Walk on it the same evening. Park on it the next day.
